THE FOUNDATION
Who We Are
A World of Dreams Foundation Canada is a non-profit organization that grants dreams to critically, chronically and terminally ill children across Canada. The Foundation has a volunteer Board of Directors responsible for keeping overhead expenses to a minimum. All funds are raised through private donations and fundraising events.
A World of Dreams Foundation Canada differs from other foundations by granting dreams not only to terminally ill children, but also by addressing critically and chronically ill children who also need hope, inspiration and the power to know that dreams can become reality. Children suffering from illnesses such as heart conditions, severe burns, blindness, deafness, or chronic illnesses like muscular dystrophy and cerebral palsy, can seek assistance from the Foundation.
We all feel compassion for a child who has been afflicted with a disease or illness, and some of us have felt the pain of losing a child. That's why A World of Dreams Foundation Canada understands the importance of dreams and their impact on a child's life. Dreams give children and adolescents the strength to keep their spirit and vitality intact. Making these dreams come true can brighten lives that are marked by pain and sadness.
Since its creation in 1987, A World of Dreams Foundation Canada has been dedicated to helping these special children realize their dreams. We offer a respite from the harsh reality faced by children with serious illnesses. The Foundation helps children escape the stark reality of their illness, if only for a while, and enter a world where dreams do come true.
Our goal is to give children hope and inspiration by granting their dreams while bringing a smile to their face and making it possible for them to laugh and be happy. We would like to give these children warm and happy memories. Some of the most common dreams requested are trips to Walt Disney World, home computers and meeting a favourite star or sports celebrity.

History
A World of Dreams Foundation Canada was founded in 1987. Since then, our mission has remained the same: to do all we possibly can to make the dreams of terminally, critically or chronically ill Canadian children become reality.
The very first article about the Foundation was published in Montreal's daily newspaper, the Montreal Gazette, on November 4, 1987:
The Foundation was also featured in a December 2000 article in the Journal de Montreal, a Montreal French daily newspaper. On this particular occasion, a lunch was organized at the Windsor Hotel in downtown Montreal. Three children were granted their dreams. The dreams were made possible by a very generous donation from La Corporation des Concessionnaires D'Automobiles de Montreal Inc. (CCAM).
In July 2002, the Foundation proudly hosted a Family Barbecue Event at Fritz Farm in Baie d'Urfé. The event was featured on the front page of the West Island Chronicle. The Foundation granted 2 children their dream to travel to Walt Disney World with their families at this special event.
Throughout the Foundation's history, a number of articles have been written describing the dreams that we have granted.
In 1993, A World Of Dreams Foundation Canada made headlines for being awarded a certificate from the Guinness Book of Records for having the largest float in Montreal's Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade.
