DREAMS

Dreams Granted

Since 1997, we have distributed over 150 dreams and disbursed approximately $310,000 to pay for these dreams.

Here are some examples of dreams that have been granted by A World of Dreams Foundation Canada. Dreams do come true

This is Marc-André, a 9-year-old boy who suffers from severe autism. In school, Marc-André learned to use the computer to communicate and facilitate his learning. His dream was to have his own personal computer, and A World of Dreams Foundation Canada came through for him. Thanks to our sponsors generous support he is now able to communicate with his loved ones.

Steven is an incredible 14-year-old boy who has had to overcome many obstacles. He has a permanent pacemaker, suffers from attention deficit disorder, was operated on in January 1999 for progressive scoliosis (Spinal Fusion) and also has Renaud's Disease. His dream, a trip to Walt Disney World with his family, was granted. Not only did his dream come true, but his family told us that his memories and smile would last a lifetime.

Emerik is a 4-year-old boy who suffers from autism and developmental delay. His dream came true when he received his own computer. This computer has helped facilitate Emerik's learning and communicating skills.

Dream Request List

While we cannot eliminate a child's illness, your donations can make it possible for a child suffering from a serious disease to enjoy the experience of a lifetime. Your generosity will be greatly appreciated and will help in giving the hope and inspiration needed.

A World of Dreams Foundation Canada receives new requests every week. There are always many children on our waiting list, because we lack the funds to grant their dreams at this time. Your donation can have an immediate impact on a child's life for exactly this reason. These dream requests are dispersed across Canada, as illustrated in the following chart:

Dreams Waiting To Be Granted:

  1. Racquel, from Mississauga, Ontario, is an 8-year old girl with Wolf-Hirschorn Syndrome, a degenerative disease that severely limits a person's long-term life expectancy. She is a very sick child, who requires a pace maker surgery as her heart is now aging much like that of a senior citizen's. Racquel's dream would be to touch and hear the ocean while sitting on sand warm from the sun.

  2. Stephanie, from Laval, Quebec, is a 10-year-old girl with spastic quadruplegia. Little Stephanie has survived some incredible obstacles that caused her to stay for the last 3 years in the hospital. Before her hospitalization, Stephanie had a great love for animals. Often her parents would take her to zoos and pet stores so that she could admire and pet her little 4-legged friends. Her dream is to leave the hospital for a visit a pet store where she can play for a while with some of her favorite animals.

  3. Erik, from St-Nicephore, Quebec, is a 15-year old boy with cerebral palsy. Coming from a very musical family, Erik's has also developed a passion for music and spends every moment of his spare time listening to, singing or making his own music. Despite his disability, he can actually keep a tempo on a drum. Erik's dream would be to have his own electronic keyboard in his room, as every time he sees a keyboard in a store, he always says to his family "in my room!"

To help make any of these dreams come true is a rewarding and humbling experience. Touching the lives of these children can only be felt once you take part. Why not start now!
